Organization Profile

Since 1972, KGVK is working towards sustainable & integrated development in rural Jharkhand through convergent efforts of the government, corporate bodies, NGOs, scientific institutions and community. The P4 model of Public-Private-People’s Partnership is the key force behind rural transformation through Total Village Management (TVM), which is enabling people to fulfil their potential and helping them to help themselves. KGVK relies on the approach of “Quality Circles” or “Problem Solving Groups” within the villages who identify problems themselves, find root cause of the problem, make action plan (5W-1H-1C Format) and implement interventions in a timely, effective and efficient fashion by the people themselves.

Our Vision

To contribute to the sustainable development goals in the areas of our operation.

Our Mission

To promote sustainable integrated development among the people of rural India through partnership and Total Village Management (TVM) that makes a real difference in their lives, creating ownership and igniting initiative and innovation, measured by transforming beneficiaries to producer, entrepreneurs and customers.

Our Visionary Leader

MR. BASANT KUMAR JHAWAR

Catalysts of Change… in his words… Passing the Baton…

“It is a long-standing observation that India is essentially two countries – one fuelling the drive for urbanization in India’s burgeoning cities and another striving for development in the vast rural landscape of Bharat.
It is indeed a great divide, and one that has seemed to widen over the past few years. Pursuing inclusive growth to bridge this gap was one of the reasons why we founded KGVK. Mobilizing the community and its available resources, we sought to find a way to ensure sustainable development in the region. In the intervening years, we have achieved some of the goals we had set for ourselves. And a lot remains to be done”.
Mr. Basant Kumar Jhawar, an entrepreneur, a self-starter and a visionary, he believed in working towards successfully creating and establishing an Indian MNC.
Although his business grew by leaps and bound, in early years of this career, he understood that that one cannot that live in an island of affluence surrounded by a sea of poverty. He also realized that disparity between “Have and Have Nots” is essentially due to difference in knowledge and skill sets.
He was associated with top educational institutions: as governing council member of LN Mittal Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur, President, Managing committee of Birla High School, Kolkata, Vice President of Sri Shiksha Niketan School Trust, Kolkata, Member Governing Board, XLRI, Jamshedpur, Member Governing Council, Calcutta Business School, and Board of trustees of National Foundation of India. Mr. Jhawar was an active member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), National Council and chaired its various National Committees.

Our Approach Of Development

“KGVK has an integrated approach of rural development through the proprietary Total Village Management (TVM) model; TVM is based on strong business principles adapted to rural setting, community ownership and grassroots entrepreneurship. The Eight Pillars of TVM – Natural Resources Management; Health: Nutrition & Sanitation; Education; Renewable Energy; Livelihood; Women’s Empowerment; Capacity Building; Resource Mobilisation; Infrastructure Development – work together in a convergent manner and are well tied to the local governance structure and communities to ensure smooth implementation and long-term sustainability.
